NOTICE IS HEREBY given that the Town Board of Herman, Dodge County, Wisconsin, will meet at W1892 Rock Road to do a walk through and inspect the property recently purchased by the Town of Herman to discuss what maintenance or upgrade items might need to be done to the property on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 4:30pm. Action may be taken at the next board meeting.

NOTICE IS HEREBY given that at an election to be held in the Town of Herman, Dodge County, Wisconsin, on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, the following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed. All terms are for two years beginning on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL TOWN MEETING

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, immediately following completion of the Public Hearing on the proposed budget which begins at 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Community Center, a special town meeting of the electors pursuant to Section 60.12(1)(c) of Wisconsin Statutes by the Town Board for the following purposes will be held:

Polling Place Location and Hours

LOCATION AND HOURS OF POLLING PLACE

NOTICE IS HEREBY given that a General Election for Wards 1 & 2 in the Town of Herman will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016.  The polls at Trinity Community Center (former Herman School Building), N6409 Cty Hwy P, will open at 7:00 am and close at 8:00 pm. The Polling Place is accessible to elderly and disabled voters.

Notice of Meeting of the Local Board of Canvassers

At the close of voting on Election, pursuant to the provisions of Wis. Stat §19.84, the Election Inspectors will convene as the Local Canvassing Board for the purpose of conducting the local canvass pursuant to Wis. Stat §7.51. This meeting will be open to the public pursuant to Wis. Stat §19.81-89.

PLAN COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING

 

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held by the Town of Herman Plan Commission and Town Board on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 7:00pm at Trinity Community Center, N6409 Cty Hwy P, to hear and consider taking action on the following:

 

  1. A Public Hearing on the conditional use application from AT&T Wireless, owner of property William Lisko, for the purpose of constructing a communications tower in an A1 Farmland Preservation District, Code of Ordinances, Chapter 384-28 B (9), Town of Herman, Dodge County, Wisconsin in the SE¼ of the NE¼ of Section 22.
  2. A Public Hearing on the conditional use application from Trinity Lutheran Church to add the uses of religious (church) and community center to the property located at N6409 County Road P, in the A2 General Agricultural District, Code of Ordinances, Chapter 384-29 B (6) & (12) Town of Herman, Dodge County Wisconsin in the NE ¼ of the NW ¼ of Section 15.

Public comment from residents, property owners and other affected parties will be heard.  All interested parties are welcome to attend.

Immediately following the adjournment of the Plan Commission meeting, the Town Board will convene to consider the recommendations made by the Plan Commission and possibly take action on them.

Conduct Public Test

TOWN OF HERMAN

PUBLIC NOTICE

 

Under Wisconsin State Statute 5.84(1), the Town of Herman will be conducting a public test on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 8am of the optical ballot tabulation system and touch screen equipment to ascertain that it will correctly count the votes cast for all offices and on all measures for the General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016.  The test will be performed in the clerk’s office at N7240 Ferris Road, Mayville.  The test is open to the public.

Absentee Voting

VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot.  A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 10 consecutive days before the election.  The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot.  Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.

You must make a request for an absentee ballot in writing.

Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary or election or both.  You may also submit a written request in the form of a letter.  Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different, and your signature.  You may make application for an absentee ballot by mail, email or in person.

The deadline for making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail is:

5 pm on the fifth day before the election, November 8, 2016.

Note:    Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror.  If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.

You may also request and vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office or other specified location during the days and hours specified for casting an absentee ballot in person.

Call for appointment

The first day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office is / was:  October 3, 2016.

The last day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk’s office:  November 6, 2016.

No in-person absentee voting may occur on the day before the election.

The municipal clerk will deliver voted ballots returned on or before Election Day to the proper polling place or counting location before the polls close on November 8, 2016.  Any ballots received after the polls close will not be counted.
